What Is ADP

A Little Background Information

In 2020 we found out that the local phone box was going to be decommissioned. It was then that the community were approached and asked what they would like to happen with the phone box. Almost everyone voted to install a defibrillator into it. Of course we had lockdown which slowed everything down completely. Once we formed as a community project Louise Ness asked if we would take on the upkeep of a second defibrillator which is positioned at the fire station, which we were very happy to do so.

We will be training our volunteers to use the defibrillator. Please check the 'Training' button to find out when the next training session is, and if there is nothing evident then contact Shona below. If you are interested in training please send a request to Shona on the following phone number; 07846779013.

We have a good number of volunteers who will be performing several duties once or twice per week. They will check the defibrillators battery to ensure that the battery is fully charged, and ready to be used in an emergency situation, and any new parts that are required are in place. It's a vital role within the structure of the project. The phone box will have a good wash down about twice per year, and then a fresh coat of paint to keep it in good condition.

The ambulance service will also be notified when the defibrillator is installed.

We have been very lucky, thanks to you, the community who donated your hard earned money, businesses, one of whom is actually based in Edinburgh. Kevin Robertson who is the owner/manager ol 4CornerNetworks. Kevin Robertson moved to Auchtermuchty last year and he was looking to support a local charity. Not only did his business donate to the project, Kevin also joined us for a wee while, to advise us how to approach businesses in the future. Then of course there was the Boar's Head first charity night who kindly chose to support us, we owe you all a debt of gratitude. You have all played a part in making sure that our community will be safer should anyone experience a heart emergency, and for that, we are truly grateful.

Our project will always be in need of funds, as we have running costs to think about, bits and pieces of equipment to replace over the years, and so on. Please do keep us in mind, whether you are a business or an individual, and last but not least.......always remember we have a defibrillator here for everyone should you ever be in the need of one.
